Hearts & Lungs

In science this week we have been learning about the heart or how it works. We also learnt how to dissect a lambs heart. The fun part about dissecting a heart was that we were able to learn about the different parts of a heart. The different types of blood are DE- oxygenated blood and oxygenated. DE- oxygenated blood is blood that doesn't contain oxygen and oxygenated blood is blood that does contain oxygen. I also learnt that there are four different chambers that help the blood get to different parts of the body such as left atrium and the left ventricle which pump oxygenated blood to the body and right atrium and right ventricle pump DE- oxygenated blood to the lungs.
